About MeAs a Licensed Professional Counselor, I provide therapy for clients seeking personal growth and wellness by working through the challenges of life. Through personal connection, experience and insight, I assist clients as they process and cope with their distress.
I have been a counselor for over 35 years, working 26 years as an elementary and middle school counselor in Gwinnett County Public Schools. In 2002, I started Dream Quest EFP & TR, Inc. as a unique experiential approach to counseling in equine-facilitated psychotherapy. In 2014, I opened Thrive Counseling Services to provide traditional therapy in an office setting for current and prospective clients. In May 2019, I retired from Dream Quest but continue to work with clients in the office. I am a member of the National Board for Certified Counselors, the Licensed Professional Counselors Association of Georgia and the American Association of Christian Counselors. Personally, I have recently married and changed my last name. My husband and I share a beautiful blended family of two sons and their wives, a daughter, 3 grandchildren, a dog and cat. I enjoy ministry and worship activities in the church and community, as well as playing tennis, singing, and walking with my dog. |
Approach to Counseling |
Through developing a personal, therapeutic relationship, clients are able to process life experiences and challenges through a cognitive behavioral approach. My foundation for life and therapy comes from a Christian perspective, believing that God is the source of all healing and hope. However, I respect and value clients from differing perspectives and am willing to work with individuals from any background.
